Drip Brew
16:1 ratio
⅓ oz {10g} | Medium Grind | 6 oz water | 200°F
1 Tablespoon of Medium Ground coffee per cup
Not all coffee makers are the same, and this is where things can get a tad difficult. In the US, the “cup” markings on your machine can actually vary between 4 and 6 ounces. That means on one brewer a 10 cup brew may be 40 ounces, and on the one next door 10 cups could be 60 ounces (using 67 and 100 grams of coffee, respectively).
In rough terms, this means that you will have to do some measuring to figure out how many ounces your machine actually holds, or some trial-and-error to fine-tune the brew ratio to your personal preference.
If you are in a hurry or don’t know the machine you are using, 1 tablespoon of ground coffee per cup listed on the carafe is a good rule of thumb.
